The Primordial State

with Jakob Winkler

A Retreat for Discovering our State of Rigpa

This retreat is aimed at all practioners, both new and long-term students of Dzogchen, who wish to discover, clear-up doubts or stabilise their state of rigpa.

Rigpa, our state of instant presence, is the starting point or base for the practice of Dzogchen. It is therefore essential that as individuals, we are able to recognise this knowledge within ourselves. This retreat is a unique opportunity to participate in a retreat with an experienced and qualified teacher: to practice, learn and discuss our understanding together.

“Dzogchen is not outside us … it is the Great Perfection of our original or primordial state of consciousness. When we live in this knowledge, in this state, then that is practice.” Chogyal Namkhai Norbu

The daily Teaching & Practice sessions will include the following topics:

  • How to study and practice Santi Maha Sangha
  • Various methods and ways of doing ‘Guru Yoga’
  • Understanding the difference between Sutra, Tantra and Dzogchen
  • Exploring the seven Lojong (Mind Trainings) & nine Yanas (Paths).
  • Xitro & Semzin practice - to distinguish ‘mind’ from ‘nature of mind’.
  • Guidance on the Gana Puja and Tun practices

The retreat will be held at Kunselling, our beautiful Dzogchen retreat centre in Wales. Kunselling as been used for over fourteen years for group practice retreats and is therefore a very conducive place for developing our understanding and experience within a peaceful and comfortable environment.

Please Note: Although this retreat is based on the base level Santi Maha Sangha text ‘The Precious Vase’, attendance requires no previous study experience. Indeed, Rinpoche always emphasizes that the Base level is invaluable for everyone!
