Chod retreat, Saturday 18th to Friday 24th February

Chod is a practice which originated principally with the female master, Machig Labdron around 1,000 A.D. The practice is used in all the schools of Tibetan Buddhism and its particular emphasis for Dzogchen practitioners relates to behaviour and the overcoming of attachment. In this retreat, there will be a full explanation of the meaning of the text of Chod and also practically how to use the dameru (drum) and bell.

The full explanation of Chod will take place over the weekend of 18-19th February.

From the 20-24th February, following the advice of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu, the practice of Chod will be combined with Rushen practices, based on ‘The Precious Vase’. Rushen practices are aimed at separating the workings of the mind from the state of pure instant presence or rigpa.
